First time cleaning films with Film Renew and PecPads. I seem to be getting more gunk than I anticipated. Is this a normal amount for a 50' reel?

That is typical, yes. You will be surprised at how smooth the film runs thru the projector wants it has been cleaned and lubricated.

Seems to me I remember that particular shade of green cleaning Kodachrome...it's been a while, though.

Neah! We have Smutz running all around our neighborhood, with no dog collar or chains. I wouldn't mind too much but they get into our garbage ... to which, when I see it, I say ....

I'd say that is the top end of 'normal'. The film needed cleaning. Discard the cloth every 50ft. But use both sides. Good luck...

That's probably 50' worth of gunk, but honestly, I usually switch out pads before I finish a roll.
