I looked up at the uploaded date, it was 2014, it is just recently!!.

I can tell you that this truck is owned by government for people to enjoy movies for free. Government paid the copyrights for doing so. They bought 60 trucks mobile cinema like this and distributed to the area where cinema is not available.

Just like we did at BFFC... hand in hand for the sake of upholding the real cinema ;-)

...and finally all enjoy the show....

So as a movie buff, I proud of my country that we are still using real film [Wink]

Back to 1980s, when 35mm films were widely used, in Indonesia we had commercial companies to run mobile Cinema. Governement had a strict rule that only 16mm was the format allowed, so there was no competition between fixed cinemas which were using 35mm.

Until now this commercial mobile cinemas are still doing their business and they have their FB page too: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1399358096973429/ with 4300 members

What make me amazed here that these mobile cinema trucks were provided by government (for free) with 35mm equipments in this digital era. I believe only us within this community who are aware the distinguished quality between 35mm vs digital. Those people watching the movie are majority not bothered if it was projected through 35mm projector or LCD. For them it would just be the same.

I have read in the governemnt budget that for creating this mobile cinema, they spent almost US$70,000 for a truck. If they wanted to use LCD, the cost would go down to US$55,000. Not to mention the cost of one F/L 35mm copy (US$5000) vs DVD (US$30)... [Big Grin]

So I was amazed who was in 2014 the person had this incredible idea to keep 35mm run, while if it is just about saving money, they can choose DVD instead.
