Anyone with this projector is probably not satisfied with Eumig's "non-storage" solution to storing the sprockets. You can store a gate inside the front projector cover, but not the sprockets. One way...if you have the original sprocket holder plate is to attach the plate some where on the case as Eumig suggests. But what if you don't have the holder plate?

Here is what I've come up with for now until I can find a more attractive box. The box I used came with some toothpicks inside [Smile]

. It was just deep enough to house the sprockets and fit the lid.

I Velcroed the box to the top of the back cover and covered the lid with some black electrical tap just to camouflage it a little bit. A black or clear box might look better. Now thinking about it...I could spray paint the box [Smile]

I preferred it positioned horizontal on the top rather vertical on a side or back and I still have full use of the handle.

I'm now hoping it less likely to lose or misplace the darn sprockets. We'll see. [Wink]

I guess I missed something in your 'sprocket saga'. Did your 824 in fact come with all the sprockets and gates, or were you able to locate them on the internet?

I have a S712D with the alternative sprockets and gate housed in a separate plastic box. I was lucky that the box was included, I suppose, when I bought it for less than £16, including shipping, on eBay.

@Paul...I was very fortunate. My gamble paid off and both the gates and sprockets were on the projector even though listed as missing. The projector just has a few audio issues I'm working on...but in the meantime I came up with this idea to store the sprockets so I wouldn't lose them.

It looks as if the frame counter has taken up the space that is used for sprocket storage in the 710D model. The are clipped to projections in the front cover behind the lamp.

I've refinded my storage solution a little further. I ended up buying a small electronics project box. The top on the toothpick box would not fit tightly, but the top on the project box can be secured with screws and it also looks better.

Well done Janice,the Eumig people should've done something like that from the start.So many projectors are turning up without the other sets of sprockets etc.

Compliments on a smart solution. My 824 came in the original box and fortunately had the sprocket holder plate, but it's difficult to find a good storage place even inside the box.

One tip I'd offer to people obtaining an 824, or any projector, in the original box: I initially thought my sprocket holder plate had been lost long ago, but as a last resort I looked under the polystyrene section at the bottom, and I found it there! That's not the only time I've found a small missing accessory underneath the lower polystyrene of a box.
