Hello there!
I have received this super 8 projector from somebody who didn't use it since years. It's a Bell & Howell Filmosonic 1776 with sound.
Does somebody know something more about this projector (reliability, image stability,...)?
Thanks, guys!!
Nick

Nick, I'd be careful with that one. It looks a lot like a B&H Filmosonic film scratcher I bought brand new in 1975. I'm not sure if it's the same model, but it sure looks like it.

Thanks for the information, Joe!
It's good that I know to be aware with this machine. I have now screened some films with it, but have not remarked something yet. Have you an idea which part in the projector would cause the damage?

I have one of these machines also and I have heard the same thing that they can scratch. The one I have does not but I don't really use it much. I have heard that it could be from the sound head area. I like the fact that the lens swings open but I don't like the closed sprocket area...this can be a debris catcher and scratch as well. This is why I keep some red films around....run them twice through these machines to see if any damage is occurring.
Actually it has a nice steady picture with good sound too.
