Hi all,
Yes getting slower and slower in forward, but goes very fast in reverse.
Any suggestions?

Did this behavior just start after running fine or is it a newly acquired projector or one you haven't used in a long time? You never know what someone has done to a previously owned projector or how long it has sat around not running.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1) Make sure the outer switch on the speed controller switch is set to normal and NOT on Slow Mode. Turn the inner dial towards the right...the speed should increase. If not there may be a problem with the rheostat switch.

If the speed control is working...

2) When turning the shutter or fan wheel can you detect more resistance in the forward direction opposed to the reverse?
3) Check that the gears, shutter, and claw are lubed and running freely... unobstructed. Clean old dried grease and reapply some SuperLube.
4) Try adding a few drops of oil to the motor.

I understand you changed the belt but try the troubleshooting steps I've listed above. Report back after you've tried those steps.

LOL Bill...it looks like you may be hitting the "Add Reply" button twice. That's understandable right now since the forum database is running with a severe delayed response time. You probably hit the button a second time thinking the first attempt didn't work [Smile]

Hi Janice,
I've had this projector a long time and use it quite a bit.
The slow speed thing started gradually (had to turn speed dial up more and more over time), and it runs very fast in reverse.
I put on a new belt, cleaned everything (was pretty clean already), added a bit of new Super Lube, gears all look good and free. I also put a couple of drops of oil on motor shaft.
No increase in speed.
One thing that confuses me is your mention of a "slow mode" switch. I only see the speed dial located below the focus adjustment. I checked the contacts on the rheostat behind the speed dial and it is adjusted properly.

Found the problem Janice!
When you mentioned slow speed, I looked at the "still" red push button. When pushed it the projector sped up. So I added some super lube to the spot where the little nylon tab pushed against the metal disc. That worked.
Thanks for your help and I hope this may help others with similar issue.

Hi Bill...First off...sorry I confused you about the speed control dial...my bad. I was confusing the Sankyo 2000h with the dualux 1000 which has a separate still button instead of a multi function switch.
