hi Guys,
Im sad to say that my beloved yelco will not rewind film anymore.
It will run forward without problem but when I rotate the switch to rewind nothing only light (which has caused one of my cartoons to burn.)
Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be I have open the projector and the belts and gear look fine its just that the motor will not rotate backwards?
Does anyone have a service manual that they could share please.
Also another issue with this projector is that for a while I have no sound from the speakers, but curiously when I plug the phone stereo plug I can use home amplifier speaker, it just that there is no sound form the projector.
again any service manuals would be great.
thanks team.

I just looked up your projector in the Super 8 Database and WOW Pablo...what a nice machine. So sorry you are having troubles with it. As far as it not going into reverse... if it has micro switches to control motor direction then one or more could have gone bad. Your motor maybe brushless...but if not, perhaps the brushes need cleaning.

I'm with Janice here: it sounds to me like one of the motor switches has one bad contact. In the DC-motored machines I know, each motor terminal is connected to a switch that's set up to "choose" + or - DC. They work in tandem to choose the opposite terminal from what the other one does. If you had one dead contact you would wind up with forward and nothing instead of reverse.
It could be all that's wrong with your sound is your speaker connection, or worse yet the power stage of the amp is shot.

I agree that something is bad in the switch. On rewind, the light should not come on at all.

Although the switch itself is just a plain simple microswitch available at any electronic store. But replacing it means a major teardown job,not so fun at all.

I’ve done it: it’s the kind of job that feels good after you’re finished!

(So much for “you may not immediately reply to yourself!”)
