I recently obtained a free copy of this feature. In good condition overall, but faded pink. Clips on Youtube showed this movie in black and white.

So if this print was made on color stock - is that the reason why it went pink? Strange I guess.

Yes Chip Gelmini , I've read that B/W films were sometimes put on colour film stock , something to do with the cost maybe?
And being colour film the chemicals still fade to pink/red.
I'm pretty sure about this [Smile]

Also getting neutral B&W images to start with was a problem, in later days some of the Derann "White box specials" were B&W films on colour stock with bad colour tints from new.

I bought a 16mm trailer for Young Frankenstein which was printed on color stock. In the beginning it used to a have a nice sepia tone tint to it. Now it's turned to an annoying reddish black and white.
