It's been a long time since my last post. Just a couple of days ago I projected my copy of Star Wars 1977, this is a Derann print in SCOPE and stereo sound. The soundtrack is in Italian, I haven't had the courage to re record the soundtrack in English because I fear spoiling the hole thing. Anyway my native language is Spanish and I certainly understand the Italian soundtrack. I made this video of the intro and uploaded to Youtube, sorry, the video doesn't get it all that right, but you can get the idea. This print is the original 1977 film, but it does have the title that reads "A New Hope" and has the modern text crawl, otherwise it's as seen in 1977 without any crappy digital effects, we have the cantina wolfman and Han shoots first.
The projector was an ELMO GS1200 with a ELMOSCOPE lens.
Enjoy.

Nice sharp looking scope print.

Thanks Stuart, yes it's pretty sharp, I never cease to be amazed of how much quality you can get from such a tiny piece of film.

Julian - I'm not a Star Wars expert, but I'd imagine you struck lucky with the print quality, because I doubt whether any are better. I'm struck by the sharpness, considering collectors don't regard SW to be one of Derann's sharpest releases. How wide is your screen? And I enjoyed the Italian!

Dear Adrian, you are right the color and the sharpness are amazing, the price was also very good, though I won't disclose how much I paid for it. I have seen other SW Derann prints with lower sharpness and the colors turned towards blue, this is not the case. The projection size in the video was small about 1 to 1.2 meter (3 to 4 feet) straight to a white wall, but I usually project the film on a screen 2 meters wide.

What happen why the sound has so high (wow and) flutter especially at 1:25?
Posted by Julian Baquero (Member # 2520) on April 17, 2018, 07:31 PM:
Wimbert, speed fluctuation, I think the GS1200 is having trouble with speed. I didn't do any warming up, anyway i've had this issue since I bought the projector. I don't have the faintest idea of how to solve it.

Julian, did you get the same problem after 3 minutes of playing?
