I saw for sale King Kong from 1976.
It was a Marketing 4x 120m (400") with German sound.
Was this film released in English too, and what versions, digest or full feature, even Derann?

I recently sold a 400ft marketing digest. This was with english sound. Not re recorded either. I only sold it due to the fade creeping in. It was quite a good version.

Matthieu,

 -

Marketing only released the full feature and the 400' digest in English although there are a number of re-recorded 4x400' versions out there (I have one).

Derann released a scope trailer of this film.

So the 4x 400" is probably a rerecorded version with German sound, because all the tekst on the cover is in German.

I've got hold of a German language copy of the 4x400 '76 Kong and would love to re-record the sound into English. I have a GS-1200 which I understand could do the job but have never attempted this type of thing. I've read up on the forum about videoing the film and then matching up an edit from a ripped dvd, however I'm still pretty vague on how to synch up the projector to the new audio playback. Could someone please give me a quick dummies guide on how to do this?

Gary,

Try doing a search using the term "sync pulse". You will see a number of helpful threads.
