I just thought I'd ask as to whether "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams" was ever a super 8 feature release in Italy?

I mean, I'd love to find a magnetic feature of this, with good color, that I could easily re-record into english sound! That would do for me!

I know for a fact that prints of "When the North Wind Blows" were available recorded in Spanish. ("Cuando Sopla el Viento del Norte")

It was Schick-Sunn Pictures for both of these. Maybe there are Spanish language Grizzlies too!

IMDB says it was released with these non-English titles:

O Homem da Montanha (Brazil)

Les aventures de Grizzly Adams (Canada, French title)

Der Mann in den Bergen (West Germany)

... and in the case of "When the North Wind Blows" at least some of them were struck on low fade stock ... I've seen them!

I love the movie, but mine is long passed the point of being something I would show to an audience.

-although, still semi-correctible with filters.

I have friends that would love to see it too, but I try to show them good examples of how film looks and sounds!

It's a shame: I've seen what it's supposed to look like and it's a beautiful movie.

In a way, both of these are a tribute to what akilled people can do on a budget. They were both low budget films that really work in terms of telling a story well.

(All that scenery certainly doesn't hurt!)

I agree! I love nature films in general, and the 70's with it's "back to nature" kick going full strength, there were myriads of good to very good nature films.

Another one I have, "Starbird and Sweet William" i was lucky enough to find a great color print that doesn't have a hint of fade and extremely sharp. I don't think this one specifically, was a "Sunn Classics" release. At least, there are no official Sunn classics logos at the beginning.

Another film from around that same time (which was released as an optical sound feature), which was a good family film was, "Across the Great Divide", starring who became a a "family film" star, (as he did all three "Adventures of the Wilderness family" as well as this film and a few others.
