I will give an update to my scanning, i have halted scanning.

I observe the film as I scan it to ensure there is no damage. But it seems with the latest, the scanner has started to inject serious base side scratches and has also started doing a horrible jitter on the scanned file that is unwatchable that others have reported.

It has done it to an entire reel, one of my positive polyester prints of a family do from 2014. Luckily this is one of the few prints that I have a negative for a new print given how sentimental this event was, I am glad it never wrecked any of my grandad's film that has not all been scanned yet. As the scanner is only 2 days old I plan to return it for a refund and bite the bullet and get the professionals at on8mil to scan the rest of my grandad's film over a period of time.

Be careful with these wolverine machines if you wish to watch your film on a projector again. Looks like I will be getting Andec to make me a new positive from that messed up print when I next have some negatives sent to them and I am thankful it is one of very few in my collection that I have a negative to go back to and is why i shoot negative for those important events...

Yeah, I am lucky that the nuked one I have a negative to make a new print, and the other was such a minor problem that filmguard can cover... But that is not the point. I would AVOID these scanners like the plague. Especially since the shredded (as good as) print is an event I cannot do again, and i just so happened to be lucky that I shot negative that day and thus have one to go back to...

The print had been projected only a handful of times and was clear, but was covered in lines in the center, left and right of the frame and to boot the scan was a jittery mess.

I deduced as the jittery scan did not show the newly created lines, that it happened some time after the gate. Maybe those garbage static guides?
