Hi all,
A few months back I had asked if anyone knew of a reputable Eumig repair shop. I'm pleased to say that Optech in Andover, MA provided what may be the best repair service I've ever experienced.
Those familiar with the Eumig 824 Sonomatic know about the the cheap power switch at the back of the machine. As part of the service, John at Optech found a small black rocker to complete replace the original switch assembly. Those NOT familiar with the projector specs would likely assume the replacement was original to the machine.
The main issue with the machine (other than the faulty switch) was increasingly bad sound playback and recording that had --NO-- fidelity. (Think: bad audio cassette left in the sun played back on a bad deck.) Though the turnaround on my projector was longer than normal, I'm pleased to say that the result is fantastic. John was even able to find a soft portable case that fits the projector and its accessories perfectly, as well as a daylight viewer for the 800 series which is indispensable when recording sound. (The latter is important for me as I am in the process of recording a soundtrack onto a standard 8 Blackhawk print of "Phantom of the Opera.)
I can't recommend them more highly. If you have any projectors or cameras that are in need of service, give Optech a call at 978-475-4831.

They are good people. They called for parts a lot! John is good at repairing all models! As long as he has the parts! Glad to hear your machine is doing well! Good luck!
