if you had a print with excellent color but also had an emulsion scratch for about a minute in it would you keep it or sell it?

I would keep it as having good colour is the best thing. A green scratch for only a minute wouldn't bother me (unless I could easily obtain another print at a good price but would only bother if it was a favourite movie of mine)

I second Graham's opinion: better good colors throught a print with a 1 minute green scratch than a perfectly scratch-free print with mediocre (or worse) colors.

We have one particular print with green scratches and perfect colour I would never part with purely for sentimental reasons.

If I like the film I will keep it! And as long it has a scratch on the far right side or left side! If it is in the middle I would get rid of it! I just hate those scratches that run down the middle! Very distracting!

Keep it, I have a Bugs Bunny cartoon with a green scratch on the last minute - wouldn't part with it.

One of my films had a lovely scratch in the centre right through the main characters face from the very start of the film. I got Marco to print the section from a dvd and no-one would know there had ever been a problem unless a sharp eyed viewer registers a slight difference in the colour balance. Scratches in the wrong place always distract but rarely destroy the viewing experience. I tend to hang on in hopes of a perfect replacement but as each year passes the hope of copies of favourites being available or even affordable lessens.

Would it be great if they had a film cleaner that would get rid of those green scratches? That way we can keep our prints!
