I just received the latest issue of The Reel Image Magazine from Steve Osborne. Well I must say that the thicker glossy pages and higher quality printing have made a huge improvement to the look, feel, and enjoyment of this excellent little magazine, and well worth the minor increase in subscription price. Well done Steve! [Smile]

I just barely got into mine before work this morning: looks great!

I enjoyed seeing a lot of CineSea friends in the pictures from Steve Osborne's Memorial Day gathering.

-Google Maps says Kettering is 11.5 Hours away, mostly on I-80.

-Hmmmmm!

Could I just ask if the latest edition includes any reviews of brand new Super 8 releases, as that might motivate me to subscribe!

Yes it does Adrian. I think you would like this great little magazine, which includes new release reviews as well as reviews of older releases of features and digests. Go to The Reel Image web site and you will see the cover and contents of the current issue.

Yes,

There are reviews of these:

Super-8 (trailer)
Inception (trailer)
Star Trek 2009 (trailer)
On her Majesty's Secret Service (trailer)
Quantum of Solace (trailer)
The Magic Umbrella (animated short)

-plus reference to two new digests and a new cartoon now in progress.

There is an excellent article about Eugene Castle which as you read it, you start to realize it is written in present tense: it ends anticipating the troops returning from WWII.

There are many other articles, most written by names familiar here.

For the money, it's quite a treat. It's so good that my wife enjoys thumbing through it too!

I was highly please with the paper and the look of the magazine!

Great improvement!

Heck, it was already a great read to begin with, this just makes it that much better!

Well done, Steve and company! [Smile]

-and just as a follow-up: I bought the Star Trek 2009 trailer and it's great!

(We found out the first time it's 'scope, so we had to reconvene the next night and watch it the right way...)
