Hi everyone,
I've just joined 8mm Forum and must say what a great community you have!

I am currently writing a book about the films that were banned in the UK on video back in the 80s and I am trying to track down whether those films were ever released in any shape or form in 8mm or 16mm formats.

Can anyone please help me with any information relating to the following 39 films?

ABSURD
ANTHROPOPHAGUS BEAST
AXE
BEAST IN HEAT
BLOOD FEAST
BLOOD RITES
BLOODBATH
BLOODY MOON
BURNING
CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE
CANNIBAL FEROX
CANNIBAL MAN
DEVIL HUNTER
DON'T GO IN THE WOODS…ALONE!
DRILLER KILLER
EVILSPEAK
EXPOSE
FACES OF DEATH
FIGHT FOR YOUR LIFE
FOREST OF FEAR
FRANKENSTEIN
GESTAPO'S LAST ORGY
HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY
I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE
ISLAND OF DEATH
LOVE CAMP 7
MADHOUSE
MARDIS GRAS MASSACRE
NIGHT OF THE DEMON
NIGHTMARES IN A DAMAGED BRAIN
SNUFF
SS EXPERIMENT CAMP
TENEBRAE
WEREWOLF AND THE YETI
ZOMBIE FLESHEATERS

I have a German 3 reeler of Deep River Savages as MONDO CANNIBALE on the UFA label and recently missed out on a Spanish print of Werewolf And The Yeti. I also know that Anthropophagous was released in Germany as Man-Eater but that's about as much information as I have found.

Can anyone help please?

I'm also interested in any catalogues circa 70 - 85 from labels like UFA or Derann.

Thank you in advance for any support or data you can share [Smile]
Matt

Matt - welcome to the Forum!

Your post reminded me of a thread from 2007 in which member/film dealer Barry Attwood said:

"Although not officially Iver releases, I did hear rumours of a couple of so-called video nasties being relased, shall I say, under the counter, these were "I Spit on your Grave" & "Driller Killer", I wonder how many prints were done, I have seen a print of "Driller Killer" once at a show, but I've never come across the other, although I was reliably informed there were prints struck!"

In a further post, Barry a mentioned a leaflet mentioning the titles, which a friend had shown him. This had been included in an order received from Iver Film Services. So it seems that prints of both are 'out there', but probably in very low quantities.

If you're interested to hear about Super 8 trailers, I can add that I have one for 'Blood Feast' and two other Gordon Lewis trailers that were on two different trailer reels.

I suppose many of the films on your list were released around 1981-82, which makes 8mm releases less likely, as the 'mass market' was in serious decline and the revival which started around 1983 hadn't kicked in. And even when it did, fans of pre-cert horror would have mostly been seeking it via video.

I recently purchased a large quantity of 16mm prints, and Blood Feast is one of them.
