As part of a job lot of films I got recently I have a 6 x 400ft black and white Standard 8 full feature of BACK FROM ETERNITY.
I can find no mention of this film anywhere and wondered if anyone knows anything about who released it (it was an RKO studio movie)?

Powell Films released that title together with a handful of other Universal titles.

It's GOT to be rare, being that I haven't even heard of it being released on Super 8 or standard 8.
If it's standard 8, i bet the picture is really great! Those standard 8mm features tend to look really good!

Thanks Osi
Yes picture is good, a few small lines but very watchable.
Bit of an unknown quantity so doing an ebay auction on it starting tomorrow. Will be interesting to see what it brings

Any of the Powell Films Universal releases are rare, as he only had a small time window on the copyright at the time, although he did knock out standard and super 8 prints of each title, I believe his 2 best sellers from this deal was the Orson Welles classic "A Touch of Evil" and of all things the TV movie of "Munsters Go Home" which was a fun film for fans of the TV show.

Osi,
Here on the U.K. ebay a standard 8 print of a "Touch of Evil" is going off today, but it's not cheap, especially for standard 8, here's the link.

I have had this feature,in super 8, for ages. Those fifties RKO films had sometimes interesting all star casts, like this one and the Fritz Lang features.

It's been re-listed, first down to £100, I looked this morning and now it's £90, perhaps in a few days it will come down to a more realistic price for a Standard 8 feature.

Just a small correction,MUNSTER GO HOME was not a "tv movie" but an original theatrical feature in color,(the series was in b^w).This shows how popular the series was. The cheaper way would be to Join three episodes together and show them to the theaters."Tv movies" oficially started in 1966.

Ahh BACK FROM ETERNITY a great film, with the beautiful and very curvy Anita Ekberg I have it on 16mm and it is a great print, Yes MUNSTER GO HOME was a full feature in its own right and I believe it was a scope release, when the film came out down here in NZ it was a hit and the NZBC brought the rights to the TV series and it was well received as we did not have the TV series on at the time.
