I am new to the forum, and am looking for any information I can get regarding the Sankyo Dualux 1000. My father has just found his projector and wants to give us a trip down memory lane! I have fitted a new drive belt, and the motor is running well. We attempted to feed some film into the projector, but having an issue getting it to auto feed. As we have lost the user manual, my father could not remember which direction the film should feed or where we are possibly going wrong!
The bulb has also blown, and the cheapest I can find for a replacement is £26. I am reluctant to spend any more money just yet as am unsure if it is still usable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Turn the rotary control knob to the "FWD" position. Now press down on the latch above the film path and insert the tip of the film into the auto-load slot. You should feel a slight tug as the feed rollers take up the film. It should now load automatically.

Welcome Karl to the Forum. If you PM me with a request for the Sankyo Dualux 1000 User Manual and your email address I will provide you with a PDF copy.

Here is a YouTube video I made a few years ago:

Many thanks for your replies.

Janice, I have tried to PM you, but it seems to be blocked.

Will, I have attempted to feed the film but sadly, the rubber roller that feeds the film has deteriorated to the point that it is not feeding. I guess it's time to source a replacement projector.

Kind regards

Karl

I'd recommend the Sankyo Dualux 2000-H as a replacement projector, Karl. They use 12v 100w bulbs which are considerably cheaper than the 8v 50w ones used by the 1000.
