Hello everyone!

I need to thin out my super 8 film collection and I am trying to figure out how to do this without creating a massive list (or the work of getting everything out on eBay). I have over 1000 films, mostly Blackhawk, but some others as well. If you are looking for anything (except Our Gang and Laurel and Hardy which are currently not for sale) please let me know and I will get a quote to you. Pricing will generally be consistant with the Blackhawk pricing from the late 1970's except for extra rare items. As I have not watched every film in my collection - I will take the time to watch the film to make sure you get the quality that you deserve. (If you wish to check my 100% positive feedback on eBay my sellers ID is blackhawkfilms). To facilitate things, you may e-mail me directly at pointetox@aol.com. I ship worldwide where allowed.

Thanks!

WOW...

Well, let me make a start. [Wink] I'd be interested in full-length Harold Lloyd features, if Blackhawk released any... also "The Adventurer" with Charlie Chaplin, and maybe "The Rink" and/or "The Pawnshop" too - but all of these must have soundtracks, I don't want any silent films. (Already own the silent version of "The Adventurer" and just recently found out there's a sound version, too, which has once again sent me into raging despair) [Razz] [Big Grin]
Oh, and back to Harold Lloyd, is there a full-length print of "Feet First" - the one that had a 400ft. excerpt made from it called "Height of Madness"?

Hello Jan. I have several scored Lloyd films. At the moment I am holding on to these. However I have all of the scored Charlie Chaplin mutual comedies available. I will e-mail you directly with the specifics.

Hello Daniel,

Do you have any Old Time American Railroading films? Blackhawk released quite a large number of these, but I believe most might have been on Regular 8.

If you do have any on Super 8, I could be quite interested.

Thanks and best regards,

Dave.

I'd be very interested in silent westerns (feature or short) for sure. (Jack Hoxie, Harry Carey, Texas Guinan, Helen Gibson,
Tom Mix and so on). I sent you an e-mail as well.

John

Are you able to list what "features" you have? [Smile]

Hello again everyone. I have attempted to convert my database and I am listing the titles of the full-length features I have available. I am also listing if the print is silent, sound or scored. However, please let me know if you have specific questions including pricing. I will follow with shorts in the weeks ahead. Sorry if the formatting below is hard to read. Enjoy! (I will delete titles that have been sold)

The only reason I am not posting prices is because I have not viewed every print and do not wish to misrepresent an item. If there is serious interest in a title, I would be happy to check the print and quote a price. Sorry if this does not meet with protocol but I wanted to get the list out this year. [Smile]

I have posted prices on films asked about in a later posting. These prints are marked with an aseterisk (*). Shipping to Europe is $25 - $35 per feature by air. (I cannot ship to Italy).

Why in heavens name wouldn't you post prices on the forum?

I for one would never buy a print from someone who didn't post a price. You're selling it, you should know the price.

At least one of the other film forums has a requirement that you post prices with all for-sale posts. Personally I think that this forum should do the same.

Sorry. I would be happy to post prices; however I have not viewed every title I do not want to misrepresent any item. If there is interest in a title, I will double check the quality of the film and post prices on that item. I apologize if I offended anyone.

I have received inquires on the following films and as promised will post more specific information on them:

(shipping to Europe is about $25 - $35 per feature by air)

BLUE ANGEL - Dietrich / Jannings; Niles print (but quite good for Niles, I think there is a brief period at the beginning of reel 3 where the sound is a bit lower than the rest).; 99 min. on 4 x 400 foot reels (overfull); original box. $125 SOLD

FOOLISH WIVES - Perfect condition Blackhawk print of the reconstructed Erich Von Stroheim film on 2 x 1200' reels. This is an exceedingly rare find on Super 8 in my opinion and is priced at a slight premium. It is silent (this film was only released in super 8 silent by Blackhawk, but it was released on 16mm, VHS and currently on DVD with on organ score that you may be able to track down). $140. SOLD

GREED - I do not know the source of this rare Erich von Stroheim feature other than it was not a Blackhawk print. It has the original MGM lion at the beginning. The print is on 6 x 400 reels (full) and appears to be in excellent condition, except for a few splices as I think this print originally was on 12 x 200' reels. It appears to be complete with no lines or warping. The source material for the print is good but not perfect - however it is probably as good as gets. $100

HIGH NOON - Good sound, Ivy Print - excellent pre-print source with very nice contrast. Full-length on 5 x 400' reels. Was former library print so has some wear (lines at times but no warping). Good condition, but not perfect. I'd say about a B. $85.

JUNGLE BOOK - Mint print of Disney Animated Feature from Derann in Super 8 Color Stereo Sound (Low fade film stock). On 3 x 600-ft reels. Ran twice. $225.

KRIEMHILDE'S REVENGE - Second part of Lang Niebelungen epic with organ acore and quite hard to find. Very good Blackhawk print. Excellent condition. $125

LITTLE MERMAID, THE - The print of the Little Mermaid was purchased brand new by me. It is on the original 600' reels in the original Derann box. Booming stereo sound and great color. As you know this one is out of print at Derann. The only minor flaw (which happened when I ran it through my back up projector) is a small line that runs from the beginning of the movie up to the end of the title sequence (maybe 100 feet or so). It's there, but not too annoying at all. Otherwise the print is perfect. $275

MARK OF ZORRO - Great organ-scored Blackhawk print of this title. Classic Fairbanks. Excellent condition. $150

OLIVER TWIST - Blackhawk print starring Lon Chaney and Jackie Coogan. Has music (piano score). This print must have been an answer print that just had the magnetic stripe and then a piano score was added. Blackhawk release version had an organ score. The piano score is very nice, however. The first 400' reel (of 4) has some minor sproket wear. It plays fine, but you can see an occasional flicker in the top left of the screen. Not bad in my opinion, but I have adjusted pricing accordingly. $50.

PERFECT CLOWN - This is a Larry Semon comedy on 3 x 400' reels in the original Blackhawk Box and in mint condition! It also features Oliver Hardy. (The Blackhawk catalogue lists it 1075 feet and "slightly abrdiged"). This was done to meximize the comedy pacing, no doubt. $50

SCARFACE - I bought this new from Universal 8. It is in its original packaging, 5 x 400' reels. It is the full-length 1932 version starring Paul Muni. $125 SOLD

SIEGFRIED - First part of epic Niebelungen Film by Fritz Lang. Eecellent Blaackhawk print with organ score. 100 min. $125.

SPARROWS - The Mary Pickford classic in perfect, like new, condition with a piano score. A mint Blackhawk print of the Killiam restoration with piano score. The film runs 75 minutes and is currently mounted on 2 x 800' reels.I paid a premium for this title when I bought it as I was a big fan of scored silents and this is a hard one to find. $150

THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT - slightly edited version (110 min) of feature. I was told that this is a Derann print. It looks like the Ken Films negative to me - but I have had two copies of this print and this is far better than the one I know I bought from Ken Films. Sound is great as is color in Technicolor musical sequences, but color seems a little soft in the backlot narration sequences. $175.

THIEF OF BAGHDAD - excellent Blackhawk 140 minute feature with organ score. Quite rare and in excellent condition. $200

THIS IS THE ARMY - Great movie musical! Ronald Reagan and Kate Smith are both in this one (although not featured). Great Irving Berlin Score. Sound is excellent. Color has warmed some but is still good and has not turned red. Pretty much the way I received the film some 20 years ago. Overall very good and priced to move. Full 120 minute feature. $100

TOP HAT - Astaire / Rodgers. RKO classic with excellent sound. Printed on color stock with a blue tint. Still very enjoyable. $100.

WHAT PRICE GLORY? Mint condition with piano score by William Perry; Blackhawk print on 6 x 400' reels, 132 min. Very rare. $175

The three Sherlock Holmes prints all star Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. They are Niles prints, but are better than most Niles products. They all came from excellent negatives. I have not viewed these prints but they appear to be in good condition based on brief insepction. There may be some minor lines at times. They are super 8 b/w sound and sound and picture qualtiy on these prints is very good. Running time is 60-70 minutes. They are available for $85 each.
