OK. Here I go.

1. I bid on a optical film on two cores on Ebay not long ago and won it.

2. Upon receipt I got two cores, one bigger than the other.

3. Close examination revealed duplicate titles on both cores. This is the film 'HEDDA' with Glenda Jackson. Color is turning. Not pink, but more sepia tone or rust color is the best way I can describe it.

4. Both prints were incomplete. It was impossible to combine both prints to make a proper length movie.

5. It is now cut up on 400' reels and available as optical sound test films.

6. $35.00 each, Paypal OK - USD formats only. Free shipping worlwide.

7. For those of you with magnetic machines only, this would work for picture test film only as a silent reel.

8. This would also make great extra leader lengths to splice on before the countdowns (i.e. 2 foot lengths) and to be used as "autoload" film.

Did you unspool to the end? The reason why I ask is that most optical sound airline prints were approx. 90 minutes long or slightly longer. I saw those on ebay as well and I assumed that they were two seperate prints, as the spools were long enough. By the way, was "Hedda" in the matted format, (letterboxed ) or the standard flat frame? I ask as some U.K. releases (such as Conduct Unbecoming) were released on super 8 in thier orginal widescreen. Also of note, this was one of Patrick Stewart's (of StaTrek generations fame) first film appearances or perhaps, THEE first appearance.

I completely checked the prints. They are as described in my first letter in this thread. Last summer (2005) I found a print of Hedda good enough to run and still have it. With these two cores that came last week, I know the prints were beyond repair.

Hedda is full frame flat. I also have Conduct Unbecoming plus other films in 1:85 so I know what you mean.
