"The Hobbit" is never known to be released on super 8mm. A search using this forum search as well as through google do not show that this title is ever discussed by members.

Without aiming to interfere the sale, knowing the seller is a first time poster, can you guys ask who released this, color condition, and anything related to 8mm films , so we can see if this is a legit item.

I have one question and if Nathan can answer here, what is the diameter size of each reel.

cheers,

Yes I have a copy of "The Hobbit" in 16mm and I have never known it to be on 8mm but I could be wrong.

Perhaps this is a prank? I sent him a PM message with questions about this film right after he posted and have not received any response?

I wonder if "The Hobbit" if super 8, is a super 8 optical sound feature. It's a Rankin Bass animated film, and they're "The Last Unicorn" made it out onto super 8 optical sound, (Dave Thomas Films, back in the late 80's actually had a copy of this feature in his super 8 optical sound feature listings, so I know that there was at least one print), but that may be because it was released by a studio that released they're films for the airline feature market.

I would think there's a lot of film out there Winbert that members
of this forum didn't know existed.

Hugh,

I knew it. But since the seller is a first time poster and suddenly offering films without any hello make me curios if this is a legit offer. I am sorry if I am wrong.

Osi, you have open one of the clue which I wish it was kept silent until the seller could tell what sort of sound he has, magnetic or optical. Then from there we can judge if this is legit.

I am not saying that this offer is full of scam, but I once offered a film which was told to be a full feature on the reel size which I understood would not be possible to cater a full feature. So I knew I was being scammed.

So again for Nathan, can you tell me what is the diameter of the reel.

Now, Austin or Roger did you get reply?
