I am very interested in finding a copy of this film. Please contact me with serious offers. I know this is a rare find but it can't hurt to put it out there, right?

I am interested in either the Derann version or the original.

How many versions are available? for my understanding a full feature is only available from Derann. Any info?

From what I have seen there are at least two.

Yup!

... I must admit that while I am most happy with my first day Derann printing, I wouldn't mind finding that print of the earlier STAR WARS scope feature, in the cineavision format, as it truly IS the 1977 STAR WARS, complete with the original subtitles for the "Greedo" sequence and such and, from what I understand, at least least some copies of this edition are on LPP film stock!

I feel like there should be some copies floating around out there but it's not surprising that they are nowhere to be seen.

I have some money to jump on one but you can't buy what's not available...

It's all part of the fun.

Hi Jason, One was sold on e bay only last month by Phil of CHC but frightened the life out of me when it sold for well over £500!! I like the film myself and have a Fox 800ft cutdown and at over £500 for a used print albeit a Derann on Low fade stock, I am guessing thats the way it will stay for me! l.o.l.

I have managed to see the winning bid for that ebay auction of Star Wars;
1200 USD / 920 euros!!! [Smile] [Smile] [Smile] [Smile]

I know it sounds crazy, but I have;

16mm STAR WARS feature flat
16mm STAR WARS feature flat with mag stripe
Super 8 STAR WARS feature DERANN SCOPE
Super 8 CINEAVISION feature
[Big Grin]

I will decide what prints I want to have, and will sell the others, looking for the best price. My collection is my safest bank, and I need to save money for opening my shop in the next years.

Oscar ....

Can you verify if your Cineavision STAR WARS is also LPP film stock? From what I've heard, some were printed on eastman which have sadly faded, while others thankfully made it onto LPP film stock as well.

When I checked the film, it had color a little washed, but not red, pink, etc. I would like to have my Derann print and this one forever, as it is the original version. But, I know I will have to sell it someday. One of the 16mm prints is LPP, and the other is eastman, but, the eastman looks perfect. The magnetic striped print is a one in a million print for dubbing into other languages, and you have the original english optical soundtrack too.

I have check the print this morning in a hurry. if I am not in a mistake, it is LPP. The letters are small and the perforations are over them. I will check it again when I have spare time.
