Hey! That's the one I sold to that guy in the Idaho for 1,000.00! (I recognize the boxes). Lets see if he gets as much. Hope so, hate to see him loose out on his investment.

I wonder why he's parting with it so soon. Hmmmm....

From what I remember, he had a hell of a hard time with a person he was buying a projector from and that turned him off, and the sad thing is that the seller of the projector, a reputable projector repairman, (he could speak up for himself if he wishes), tried many times over to satisfy the owner of the prints about the projector, but it took far longer than the owner of the prints wanted it to take.

I also secured a print of "Return of the Jedi" scope feature for him, so don't be surprised if you see that up for auction sometime in the future as well.

hmm..the plot thickens. The handwriting on the films looks like your business partner, Fred, Osi!
And the repair person, might that be Irv?
Hmm...

Posted by Osi Osgood (Member # 424) on March 03, 2013, 07:55 AM:

Nope, Not Irv. Yep, it was Fred's print, but don't knock it, as it was a good Derann print of ther title, scratchless, (at least, as of the time I sold it), and stereo, in cvase he didn't mention it.

By the way, I am assuming that it is the person I sold it too, for all I know, hew might have passed it on to someone else, and they might be selling the print and not the person I sold it to, but that's definitely Fred's print that passed my way.

Look at the current auction price....6666..sign of the beast plus another 6!!
I wonder how many prints of Star Wars Fred has had over the years?

Lakshmi, I have it. They are Gepe (good quality reels).

Do you want with case or reel only. The price is different.

Lakshmi, I got your PM but I prefer to reply here before I get flooded by emails.

I have mistakenly interpreted your post above, I thought you were looking for empty reels.

No I will not sell my Star Wars. I indeed got a real bargain for the SW reel (read my posting in Jan 2012) but I will keep my promise to the seller that I am not going to make any money out of it.

I don't know Alan, I think he had two. I know he had one for sure and I think he also had one of the "Cineavision" scope prints as well. Now, that one I'd love to find as I was suprised to hear that it was actually printed on LPP and even though it wasn't as good as the Derann prints, it's a lovely curiosity, to be sure.

Thanks Alan, that is one of many my good finds and real bargains in my 4 years in Canada.

Did you ever read my posting about a GS-1200 listed on Ebay as a non working LCD projector [Eek!] so I got it less than $250? or a GS-1200 was offered for $85 in an online classified and no one even bought it, and recently I just acquired from local Kijiji some Méliès, and many old Blackhawk shorts plus many L&H for less than $80. They are my few finds in 4 years.... [Big Grin]

This June I will return to my home country, Indonesia and they are enough to fill my 3 years waiting time before I get posted to another foreign country (hopefully that is Germany [Wink] )

cheers,

I did read your GS story! If you have a lot of films they will be heavy going to Indonesia.
You may have to leave Star Wars and your GS1200... [Smile]

Well this was finally sold at $814.89. The seller really needed screenshots and a better description to get to that magic $1000+ mark.

No... I think the Star Wars' price is finding a new equilibrium after the hype last year.

I do remember that two years ago the price was still around $450 but then there was a sudden jump to $1800 and was getting low to $1200, then the last time was $900.

So I would say that in searching a film, no need to rush!.

I agree with Winbert. I'm glad I sold that extra print for 1,000 a year or so ago. That same print sold for 800 some dollars this time, but then, we don't know if in the time since I sold it it has been scratched to hell. I know it was pristine when I sold it.
