Hello, friends
As things evolve it is more likely that I can restore my 16-8 perforator rather than set up one for 9½.
Since I should need new tools for Double Eight (punches) which involves a sum of money to be spent it would prove immeasurably valuable to know demand for Double-Eight raw films. So this is my asking: how many feet of what film would you buy?
There are Orwo UN 54, a 100 ISO panchromatic negative film; Orwo N 74, a 400 ISO panchromatic negative film; Orwo PF 2 plus, a non-sensitised fine-grain positive stock with an anti-halo undercoat, about 10 ISO; Orwo TF 12, an orthochromatic fine-grain stock for sound recording, about ISO 12. I could manage to have Harman industries make 16mm strips of Ilford Pan F plus, an ISO 50 panchromatic negative. Maybe Fuji Velvia 50, too. Microfilms could be made available as well as other duplicating films.
So, if I offered nominal 25-ft portions of a black-and-white negative stock at $6, how many would you purchase a year? Positive could be had for $5 per 25 ft. I should produce metal camera spools and cans, stamped with enterprise name and recirculating. Plastic reels for processed film
Please spread the word, I am all ears. One thing is certain: there are thousands of Double-Eight cameras sitting idly around and thousands of 8mm projectors on doze.
