This shop definately has got a "T3000 instruction book" for sale for 4.50 British Pounds:

For some strange reasons a "T3000" isn't listed in Canon's Online-Museum:

According to the links I've found with Google, the device seems to be able to record/playback duo-play and mono sound (magnetic). But I haven't found any other usefull data. According to the pictures the projector looks much like my Bauer T610, hence I guess that the max. reel capacity is only 180 or 240m.

Thank you for all your efforts. Yes I am also finding it hard to gather much info about this machine. But I can confirm it has a F1.2 lens.

Just a little update.
Now have this machine and it is quite a little beasty. With separate line sockets for track one and two sound tracks it lends itself for all sorts of fun. The lens is very good and its a super little machine with a steady image and very good runner. I see another has been listed on ebay overseas so if anyone is looking for one here is the link.

. They certaintly look good, but the lack of machines I see for sale tells me that they were never big players in the cine market like Eumig and Elmo (and Bauer and Sankyo)

Canon were however big in the camera market.

Hello young man.
The canon is in fact inside a Bauer with extras. Yes they also offered up the T2000 which was a simpler machine, but the T3000 is very nice indeed although limited to 600ft reels which may not suit some. I am now using this for mobile screenings as it is so light, small, and performs very well indeed with this very nice lens fitted as standard. Shows are limited at present as Val is still in hospital, but I would choose the T3000 again if one turned up and was looking for a compact performer.

Some of the features are:
Twin (individual) tracks with two din sockets on back for each
Tone knob with control for each track volume
Large focus knob for good control
F1:2 lens
Lots of sockets on back of machine

When I get a minute I will pop a clip on YouTube of the machine working and post the link here for all to wonder at.

I was in Hong Kong a couple of years ago and of course did a tour of all the junk shops (I found just one area that had many of them, obviously catering for the tourist market) and in one in particular there were many, many super 8 films, cameras and projectors.

Interestingly, the projectors were all either Elmo (perhaps not surprising) or Canon, there were a whole load of Canon variants that I have never seen or heard of in Europe so I wonder if they were a bigger player in the East with their projection equipment and for the interational market concentrated on their cameras?

I should add, that this visit was part of a bigger trip and so unfortunately it just wsn't possible to even consider making any purchases... [Frown]

But it was great looking as this was a proper junk shop where everything was buried and you had to dig to see what was there [Smile]

You could be right. Mabye Canon just never found a market in the west for their projectors. Obviously Eumig and Elmo were so massive that it was difficult for another maker to get a foothold.
