Does anyone have a non-working Bauer projector that is just used for parts? I've got a T510 with an annoying little problem with the framer. When you take off the framing knob, there is supposed to be a little pin that translates the circular movement of the knob into the up-and-down movement of the framer. This little pin has broken off. I've managed to drill a little hole and glue the pin back in this hole. This seems to work for now, but I'm not holding my breath... If anyone could spare this plastic bit (assuming it can be taken out by itself), than I would be grateful. (If anyone knows if this part is exchangeable with models like the T502, T600 and T610, then I would like to hear about that too.

Thanks!

Hi, yeh parts are interchangeable, the same things happened on one on my 502s:(.... I was stupid not to purchase a spare back when Leitz still had the items on the shelf!!!!!!!!! Witner?? perhaps!!!!!

Thanks, I'll send Wittner an email. It's not entirely clear to me which bit can be taken out and replaced. But since this doesn't seem to be the most solid construction, I'm sure the people at Wittner will have dealt with this situation before.

hi rob,
the same thing happened to my 502 duoplay. i drilled a tiny hole and inserted the metal pin from an unwanted elmo projector lens, and it works perfectly, probably a lot stronger than the original set up as well!

the metal pin version works very well and can be manufactured by everybody with a lathe.
But make sure, that whole mechanism which is activated by framing knob rod is working smoothly and well lubricated.
If not, the metal pin breaks the plastic rod and it is now more worse than before.
Remember: Plastic pin often breaks due to sticking, jaming framing mechanism (overload).

Have a Rollie Super 8 Standard 8 sound projector fitted with F1.2 bauer lens. If you are interested drop me a line. Its much the same as the Bauer.
