I'm looking for a couple of different accessories for my Elmo GS-1200 and other projectors as well as cameras.

Elmo R-1 Synchronizer

A Sync Cable that goes from the Elmo 110r to DR-1 tape recorder - the connectors on the cam and recorder like a 240 deg 5 pin din connector - only slightly smaller.

If anyone has these items or can point me in the right direction let me know.

Yes - can you tell me what kind of plug is on it? It's the diameter of mini din - but the formation is 240 degree 5 pin din. Any technical data and photos would be really great because I can make my own cable if I can find the plugs One more thing - if the owner wants to sell or trade it. Let me know I have an Elmo f/1.1 projector lens that I'd trade for it.

I guess it's not any easier in Europe find these either Kevin. I for some reason have the delusion that cine equipment is easier to acquire in Europe than in the US - but Elmo is a Japanese company.

No Robert it has been no easy task to find one here either. I dont think these were sold in any large numbers which is what makes it more difficult. Making up a lead would be very easy its just finding the right plugs.

I have one of these cables (I'm sorry, it's not for sale) and I know they are difficult to come by. What people have done in the past is to buy two Elmo C2 ( I think) sync devices which sometimes come up on German Ebay, these have the correct pug on a lead that is wired into the unit. You can remove the lead from one unit and the plug from the other and then attach that to the lead. It involves a bit of soldering but given the rarity of the lead it's probably your best bet.

In case it helps other readers identify the lead, should anyone have one lurking in their cine bins, here is a picture of the plug end of mine;

Well I suppose it wouldn't be too difficult (I think) to build a plug, provided I can find info on the net on how to build one. I saw a couple of things just in a random search about building a din connector. The diameter I believe is the same as that of a mini din connector.

Robert, I did a check up of the std Mini Din sockets and it looks like that one on the Elmo Camera is not to a Mini Din Std. Look like I will have to keep looking.

Yeah it's odd one I guess. That's the problem - it looks like a mini version of a 240 5 pin din socket but it must have been an Elmo design. A friend of mine has got some ideas for me on how to make a prototype of the socket so I'll keep you posted if I can fashion one.

I have searched high and low on the web but cant find anything kike that one. I'm sure it must exist somewhere. I cant believe that Elmo had it made specially for their equipment.

Just a thought has anyone tried Steve Osborne? If I understand correctly, he is supposed to have a collection of hard to find Elmo products. Although even this one might be tough for even him to supply.

Hello, I now this is the 8mm forum, but I have been looking for a power cord of an ELMO F16-1000A 16mm projector. It is a plug with two holes and a screw system as seem in the one you are looking for, but this is bigger diameter and male thread (projector has a hole with two pins and female thread, of course). I am interested in contacting that man, where can I found him? Thanks.

Looks like you're way beyond me here. I did find a cable (male on both ends) intended to go between the projector and an SR-1 cassette tape/pulse sync recorder. I did find the latter among loaned odds and ends, but didn't find an R-1 synchronizer, which I must have confused with something else. Either that, or it's buried somewhere out of sight and hard to get to.

So I don't expect pictures of the cable to help beyond what Mike has posted or Kevin has written. If you disagree, say so, and I'll work on it.

Thanks for looking for me Bill I really appreciate it. My father the electrical engineer (among other things) was telling me that for this type of connector I could actually put 5 female molex pins on the respective pins on the camera and then I fill the plug with casting plastic (of course applying a sealant before hand to make sure nothing sticks.) and cast a plug that will work perfectly. I did some checking and there are a great many resoures for mold making on the net, and it doesn't seem to be 'rocket science' so I'm going to give it a shot.
