I just inherited the projector, but it is missing the power cord. it is that odd 3 circular version instead of the standard computer type cord. before i clean it and change the belts i want to make sure it runs.

anyone have an extra cord they want to sell or trade for?

Hi Terryll...
I hope you can find your power cord but be aware that they are quite scarce. If you know your way around tools, it will be faster anbd easier to change the projector socket for a more traditionnal kettle-style connector.

replacing the socket is what i was thinking. would one from a computer, which is the more standard type, work?

Yes,

The standard IEC type would work, As a matter of fact if your ST-1200 was one of the later types, that would be the cord it would have.

It's a good deal too. I have an ST-800 with a non-standard power cord and I have to be very careful of that cord. If something happens to it I doubt I'll be able to find another one. My ST-1200HD on the other hand uses the IEC style and I probably have ten of those cords in the house already.

The critical thing is getting the wiring right. I got a projector one time that had a new socket installed and the..."surgeon" didn't connect chassis ground to the third prong.

-This kind of short cut can get people killed!
