This is a quote from the auction... "comes with instructer manual and threads automaticly. i start the bidding at a very silly price." He is not kidding so he must be serious!

Read his feedback as a "buyer" and you can see he just purchased this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250794356118

One is tempted to contact him and ask if perhaps he's made a mistake??

I've already done it, Mark [Wink]

I shall expect a snotty reply - if I even get one.

I'll probably be banned from his auctions like dwg1000 did to me for asking the wrong questions!!

"very silly" is right!

I sold one of these in perfect working order for $70....maybe he hit the '0' key one to many times!

Well, that's what I asked the seller - simply:

"Hi
Have you made a mistake with the asking price for this?"

I sent him an email also. This is going to be interesting. [Confused]

Very funny....

The seller bought it from another buyer for GBP 146 or eqv $240 !!

With the same amount of money he could buy a ST1200 instead.

But guys don't we have a specific combined thread for this kind of silly listing?

Yes. EBay Oddities.

Talking of being 'barred' by ebay sellers, I'm barred by Vladthe@@@@@@ for asking why he buys super 8 films off ebay and then resells them as is own at a higher price? Funny that

Hey, the projector comes with 600ft empty take up spool also with Laurel and Hardy "Them far Hills" sound (400ft), The rescuers, (200ft) and Match of the century (200ft sound) sound! [Big Grin]

Yes Mark, and he always states that that the films are "unchecked", as he does not have a projector???

Why would someone, who "buys" film, not have a projector??

By the way I'm "barred" as well for complaining about an "incomplete" film. Apparently the box the film came in was worth "an absolute fortune" so why should I complain????

Looks like he bought something from me a month ago, maybe he'll try and resell his roll of part-used splicing tape for a huge mark-up!

Posted by Michael O'Regan (Member # 938) on May 06, 2011, 12:36 PM:

Well, he's in no hurry to reply to me.

That doesn't always happen; he once spent a fairly substantial sum buying a film I put on eBay, and then resold it for a much lower price! I'm sure he does have projectors.

Isn't he the guy that puts stuff up with the disclaimer - "this could be standard 8 or super 8,I can't be bothered to look so you'll have to take a chance!!!"
[Big Grin]

The seller seems to have lowered his price, though it still seems way too high for this machine.
