I have two Eumig Mark S 710 D projectors. One projector makes a lot of motor noise. The other one, the forward reel does not move. It does rewind though. In other words the reel on the left , in the forward position does not move.

Hello Philip, sorry to hear of your problem,it's probably caused by the disc getting worn and the little disc losing traction and not
gripping.A light rough up with a piece of sandpaper should do
the trick, the little disc might need a rub too to ensure grip.
Keep us posted.

Thank you Hugh. Are you referring to one that makes noise or the one that has a problem with the forward reel. If it is the forward reel, sorry I do not know what "disc" means and how do I get to it.

Hi Phillip, the one that won't run forwards. If you remove the back
cover from your projector, inside you'll see numerous cogs, circuitry
etc, but look for a double disc that has rubberised surfaces,
situated between the two discs is a central pillar with a spinning
metal "ball".When you switch to forward, the pillar leans against the front disc and your machine shows your film.If this isn't
happening but does in reverse,it is quite likely and common that
the front disc has got smooth and the spinning ball isn't gripping.
Therefore a gentle rub with some abrasive will cure the problem.MAKE SURE THE PLUG IS REMOVED WHILE DOING THIS. Good luck.

I opened the back. I see what you mean, however when I look to the right, facing the back, to the left top near arm, a spring. To the right, the same thing with a spring, but this one is loose and sort of hanging down. I think this is the problem. I hope I have explained it right. I can unscrew that and see if the shaft engaging the gears is broken. Can you also answer the other question of the other projector excessive motor noise. Anyway, thank you.
