I think a fair assessment is that the description on the box is a cynical misnomer!.
It is simply a "Slide Duplicator" with a built-in screen for projecting images on, so they can also be duplicated. The screen is MUCH smaller than those in conventional "Telecine" boxes, so will give even worse results.
Lots of photos of "accessories" that actually do nothing significant... but very impressive to look at!
Value? 20 euro, perhaps!
Personally, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

Thanks for the heads up, Martin! Made a quick effort to look more into the product after your tip, and quickly found that it usually sells for around 35 USD on eBay, and it had 2/5 stars on Amazon.fr

Thank you, John, for the STILLS you put up, which confirm that the device gives about the quality one would expect from it. But Super 8 film can offer much better resolution... and the camera also can.... so the weak spot is the device itself. The grain is from the tiny screen, as predicted.
Not knocking the device,per se, ( the manufacturer is seeing further than the basic slide duplicator) or your enthusiasm for the item you are trying to sell, but simply the price. Much better results can be obtained by projecting on a sheet of A4 paper and photographing from that... cost for transfer equipment virtually nil. Best of luck though, with selling it!

why are these stills only 800x535? Is this due to image-shack or due to your DSLR-camera (e.g. stills taken from a 16:9-720p-video and reduced to the area that isn't black)?

does it all have to be perfect? I have found the source material has a great bearing on the results. I use an old Eumig 807D, a Panasonic DVD camcorder (ebay £38), a 16mm projector lens reversed, (ebay £10) and the diffuser from an old slide viewer. (free), and transfer in real time at 16.667 FPS.) Not great, but good enough for me. feel free to criticise, I can see all the errors only too well myself.

I'm impressed by your results. Would I be right in thinking you have gone via the avisynth/virtualdub route?
If I'm right can you give any tips on dealing with duplicate and merged frames?

You have nothing to be ashamed of there John... your results are excellent...... and you are quite right, the quality of the source material is important. You and I have had some private correspondence on the whole subject and I hope that my suggestions have helped you to that result. I wouldn't have thought that anyone would be unhappy with what you have achieved, except for someone seeking perfection for perfection's sake! That falls into the category of the old HI-FI problem... listening for the FAULTS in the reproduction instead of enjoying the music.

John, to answer your question, yes, I use virtualdub with Videofred's avisynth script. I save my edited footage as an avi file which I then feed through the NO_DUPS script before using Fred's script with frame blending, as I feel the script with interpolation gives too many unwanted artifacts. Hope this helps..
