Hi this is for a spares ST1200, odd wear etc needs lamp, It did have a plastic 1.3 lens but its not in and can`t find it. Has the 800 feet reel, lead and the accessories box and in an OK black carry case. But sold as a spares machine.But useable.

I need one part from the 1200, the part where you plug in an ext speaker. That port is fried on my 1200HD and I have been looking for that part. I have my sound working using an alligator clip that we worked through on this forum to get it going, but one day i will need a spare and fix my machine! You Brits are too quick for us Canadians [Smile]

Either that or you don't sleep- he hee.....

Like with almost all projectors, there are certain parts of the machine you wouldn't want to be dismantling or disturbing unless you are absolutely forced into doing so.

Not because of any lack of skills or even basic tooling, but just because there are critical factory settings often tuned uniquely to its electronics at optimum setting in the factory.

An example of what i am talking about on an Elmo machine would be the optical sound lens set up.

On all machines with sound, the azimuth setting isn't one that should be muddled with unnecessarily.

I remember a tale on here a few years back of a member who had built up his confidence at changing bits and pieces on his machine like the main motor etc but then started to change the polished machined film guides. One set was simple enough, but he then went into attempting to change out the fixed film guide.
This is a job even the factory technicians didn't like to touch, as it was so difficult to find optimum running position and that was using specialist purpose built tooling and a factory built jig and special steel film templates!

There are many parts that can be dismantled and reassembled highly successfully by many with the right tools, but I doubt I would ever even attempt to strip an entire machine down to component level.

Even less so just for the hell of it.
Take care Tom if you ever go ahead with this, that
A/ it really is a total scrap machine
B/ Whether or not you feel there is much to gain from doing so given it is already a scrap machine and therefore would have faults to begin with besides the new ones induced from non factory set ups on reassembly, which of course none of us can do entirely satisfactorily without specialist electronic test equipment, jigs and tooling.

Reminds me of the mechanic in 'Doc Hollywood',when he finished repairing Ben Stones car he gives him a box with some parts in and tells him 'there's always some over when I put them back together'.Oh, and Julie Warner as Vialula, is one of the reasons I love this film...
