Hi every one, I have an old standard 8 set of re-wind arms and was wondering if these could be converted to take super 8 reels. Does something exist to do this, or am I barking up the wrong tree. If they do exist, does anyone know where I could get some. I Iive in hope.
Many thanks, Clive

Hi Clive, there are adapters depending on the shaft size you can get an adapter for it?..
Like this:

Hi Clive...The adapters that Matthew suggested are adapters for 16mm rewinds. Most 8mm dual gauge projectors and rewind/editors will come with super 8mm adapters. These adapters just fit over the 8mm post. It's possible you might be able to find a cheap editor/viewer or a projector with adapters to fit your rewinds.
If you know the make and model of your rewinds you might be able to locate 3D printed adapters. Check Van Eck's site https://shop.van-eck.net/PP-0219.html
There is also this guy in Canada making what looks like generic adapters https://tinyurl.com/y9ax4qy5

Clive,
I have some adapters from 8mm reels, that adapt st. 8 to super 8,which would mean you can use your rewinds with the 1/2 inch super 8 centre reels.
these are not as substantial as the ones Janice has shown, but they should work ok.
if any use,pm your address and I will send them .

Clive,
I take it you don't want the adapters I offered, just thought they may have helped, and I didn't want anything for them.

Clive...what David is offering would work as well. The adapter would fit on the reel while you need to use it on the rewinds...after which you can remove it.
