I just recently picked up a super 8 print of The Scarlet Pimpernel (1934 version). This is a 5x400 full feature length film. I'm not certain but I think it may be released by Thunderbird Films. Does anyone know? I've never seen this film come up for sale before. Is it somewhat rare? This print is in pretty nice shape. The quality is decent, at least for a Thunderbird film. The contrast is just a little soft. This film is in public domain, so there are many poor quality VHS and DVDs kicking around. I don't believe anybody has ever released a good DVD copy.
This is one of my favorite films of the 30's. The plot is so intriguing and Leslie Howard does an excellent job acting the cowardly Percy Blakeney. Also stars Nigel Bruce in an interesting side role. This film will keep you on the edge of your seat right up until the end of the film.
Movie: A+ Print Quality:B
