A silent film from 1928 made into a sound one by eliminating the subtitles and adding voices, including an incessant narrator worse than the Columbia ones, stock music and sound effects.Having been shot at 24 fps the results are not bad at all.It is basically a cut-price rip-off of Douglas Fairbanks' MARK OF ZORRO for which Talmadge stunted for Fairbanks.Talmadge, best known today to collectors from the serial PIRATE'S TREASURE,made a long series of cheap adventures, centering on his daredevil stunts, from the early twenties to the mid thirties, before concentrating to second unit direction,up to the mid sixties. This one, cut, most obviously, from 8 to 6 reels and with a fine picture and sound quality is a most enjoyable adenture full of action.A most happy acquisition from Spain!
