That pretty sums up this film, which I should add might not be everyone cup of tea, hence me picking up a still sealed of this Marketing 3/400ft film for peanuts.

However for years I have been after a print, so was very pleased to get it. Released in the cinema back in 1979. Its the story of a mill that's been releasing mercury into the water , thus turning the animals into huge mutants. Now I should state, that this film should not put you of camping in the woods, although, just make sure you are not near any mills when you go.

Its pretty corny stuff and would grade it as a "B" 70s movie but its fun to watch from that era. The print quality is OK, however its a bit soft on the focus, the sound is good, over all don't expect to much from this film, just sit back and enjoy it, anyway here are some screen shots...

Good review Graham! I had been wondering why this release hadn't been reviewed here before. I picked up a copy from ebay a while back and It has the same color as your excellent screen shots. A tad soft focus as well. Great too, that yours came in the Fantastic Marketing OB, part of the joy of collecting their releases.

I forgot to mention the OB cover of reel 2 depicting Dysart's demise is not included in this digest.

I had been thinking the same over the years, as to why its never been reviewed up to now. Its a film you don't seem to hear about. I guess the reason they left that scene out, might have had something to do with its rating for that particular release.

This is a good digest! I enjoyed it I just had to mount it on one reel. It fitted just right on a bonum 800 ft feel and case! Mine still has good color! And slightly soft focus! I hope to come across the feature one day! It does seem to popup now and then! Its a good popcorn movie!

Yes....That's one of the good things about "Marketing Films" is the use of polyester film stock that allows there 3/400 footers to be mounted onto one 800ft reel. I have done this with all my Marketing films.
This is "Prophecy" on a Elmo 800ft reel.

When I was a kid and we used to visit the local movie shop, the gory cover for the 400ft version (same as the Pt.2 cover) always intrigued me. I thought that this must be one gory movie!

Years later, I bought the DVD and was surprised to find it was a 12 certificate and very tame. That scene is in the film, but stops short of the blood splattering. Presumably, it was filmed and that is a publicity shot, but I wonder if it actually made it into any final cuts?

How disappointed you must have been if you were a horror movie fan back in the day and bought the film based on that cover!! [Wink]

That cover fooled me to I also though it was a gory horror movie!and it is also tamed! Not like today's Horror films?

Gawd! I remember this terrible film, but for sheer "camp", it's not bad for that genre! Good colors on you're print! Not every Marketing Films print actually holds up well ...

That's right! I had this film three times! Until I finally came across a good print! One good thing it does popup for sale time and time!
