THE FUGITIVE : 1993 Warner Brothers. Starring Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones, Sela Ward, Julianne Moore.

PLOT: Dr. Richard Kimble ( Ford ) is falsely accused of murdering his wife and is convicted and sentenced to Death Row. After a bus crash and spectacular train wreck, Kimble escapes and becomes the subject of a large-scale manhunt lead by an driven U.S. Marshall played by Tommy Lee Jones in an Oscar winning performance. The film was based on a 1960's television series of the same name. This is a true Action-Suspense-Thriller, well written, acted and directed.

THE PRINT: I received the print on 2 X 1200' and 1 X 600' reels but it was released by Derann Film Services on 5 X 600' originally. Like Predator and Silence of the Lambs, the Super 8mm
Derann release was printed "open mask", or "open gate". It is therefore a full-frame flat print. Edge markings show it to be printed on Agfa 4S
Low Fade stock. The print has Very Good, Rich Color and Contrast throughout the film, however there are some daylight exterior scenes that have a slight washed-out appearance due to the picture brightness. The sound is also very good albeit a mono recording. The print does have a balance track and the stripe is the better quality brown magnetic stripe so a future recording in stereo is possible. One more note: Due to the open mask printing of this release there are two scenes where boom-mikes
are in plain view above the actors heads, as seen in Super 8mm Silence of the Lambs print.
In Summary, this is a great action-thriller and roller coaster ride of a film that will have you on the edge of your seat until the final scene. A Superb Super 8 print!

Great screen shots from an excellent film Burton. The print looks like 16mm, You really do have some great titles in your collection. This is definatly a title i would love to add to my collection.

Yes is a very good feature film! A sharp print with nice color! I had my copy for years now! A very repeatable movie! A good crowd pleaser!

Great shots. It looks like it might have a slight lean towards bluishness. Is it L.P.P.?

Also, I wonder if this is from original 35MM full frame? Was this shot in anamorphic or full frame 35MM.

The reason why i ask is that many films ARE shot full frame and then are "matted" for theatrical distribution.

I have a number of super 8 optical features which were originally matted or as we call it these days, "letterboxed" and it's always interesting to see, boom mikes in the upper left or right occasionally, (like on my print of "Just you and Me" or matte painting borders, (like on the Greystroke).

Osi, This is not L.P.P. It is on AG4S, as mentioned in the review. If there is any hint of Blue, don't blame the print!
My shots are taken with an outdated Samsung Galaxy V smartphone, so it won't have white-balance control as good as a true digital camera would. It is open frame, but I don't know what Derann used as a master.

Don't get me wrong, It is a nice looking print. Not quite up to other Derann releases, slightly dupey looking, in my opinion. This might be due to the photography but hey, you are a LOT better takes screen-shots than myself, to be sure. [Smile]

Thanks for replies. The print review thread is brilliant and an excellent resource for collectors all, New and Veteran. I have learned so much by just sampling Douglas's list. Amazing, really.
From the shorts to the features...Let's keep it up!
