This 10-minute (Yes,10 mts not 8) digest contains scenes from “The Noose Hangs High High”. The scene selection is really nice. They have a seamless flow that demonstrates the editor truly took care when creating this little nugget of which there are 4. The original release is from Official Films. This is the Niles print which is eh. The sound is nice and clear, but the print is way too dark. I wonder what source Niles used. I’ll keep it until I find a better non-Niles print. Walton also put the 4X200’ers out, as well. Curious if they’re any better. This is another example of how with Niles it was always hit or miss where quality was concerned.

I love these "fringe" companies as, though the print quality can be downright terrible at times, they still relea`sed iyt on super 8.

My favorite terrible quality rarity is the original "promo" for the Marx Brothers film "Money Business" which was actually a full skit that was never in "Money Business" but was actually from one of they're 1920's stage comedies!

It is fairly dark and near blurry, almost no real focus to the print, but I still put it out and watch it, from time to time!

Brad, I have the Walton editions, found them to be superior to the Niles - I feel Walton used Official material, as they come out sharp and pleasant - Leaving for England next week, might find the elusive Christmas Seals reel with A&C on it, and those RKo shorts - Shorty

Shorty ...

What skit or routine do Abbott and Costello do on that Christmas seals reel?

Try to find all four extracts from Walton.THey are of good quality and by joining them in sequence, you have practically half of the film!
I also have the Marx promo reel in a good quality print.I don't remember what company I got it from.Although it may have been cut from "Monkey Business",it derives from a Paramount promo for the season's new films.

That's the neat thing about that Marx Brothers promo! There is a sequence in the film that is similar (all four Marx's brothers doing the Chevelia impression to get off the boat), but this full scene in the "agents" office was never a part of the film and was actual;ly taken from one of they're earlier productions for the stage. I'm not sure if it was "I'll Say She is" or one of the other ones.

Either this, or you might be right about this number but since it was so similar to the other one aboard the boat, they chose to go with the one on the boat over this one?

It could be possible.

Os, no skit, the entire reel contains pitches to buy Christmas Seals from various performers - A&C are joined by Laughton in a humorous, yet heart-warming plea - Rather touching actually, as the others accomplish quite nicely - Eager to locate this particular reel and cherish it - Shorty
