Hey, I don't even collect 16mm , but I recently bought (for five bucks, probably a steal!) a Bell and Howell 16mm "Filmo" 70DL camera. It has all three lenses, (some quite large) as well as the smaller lenses that came with each lense for the seperate view finder, even going as far as the original vial of camera oil! It's one of those wind-up cameras that still runs incredibly quiet and honestly, the camera is in mint condition, the leather bag it's in is a little worn though, but I think it's an amazingly good find. I think it's from the thirties or forties and from what little I have read, this particular camera was very popular with WW2 photographers, as it was very rugged.
Could anybody give me any info on this camera. I'd appreciate it.
All the best!!
OSI

Google caches are cool, but how about the current version of the above page.

Though that website is cool, it's not quite the camera I have. I'm ore fascinated with the fact that some solgier may very well have captured war footage while under very unfriendly fire with this camera. It was certianly used.

Thanks for all the info thus far. Actually, I have written (about two years ago) a script for a modern "silent movie" entitled "silenced" a Hitchcockian thriller about a deaf mute woman who witnesses a murder and no-one will take her serious, except the killer, and this camera would be perfect, especially since I have a scope lense which I can screw onto this baby. This may have been the best five dollars I have ever spent!
