I am trying to date some 16mm camera reversal film for a friend.
The rolls are news footage, probably from the about early '80's I guess.
One is Kodak VNF 3 and bears the edge number s204.
The other is Fuji and bears the edge number 8106.
If anyone has any ideas on how to date these I would appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance

You mean to tell me you've got news footage that doesn't say what date and time the news happened?

The kodak film should have a set of symbols -- some combination of circle, Box, X, Triangle. That will tell you the date.
Based on what you said, the Fuji is probably 81. Could it be "81 OD" rather than "8106"? Fuji usually has two numbers (The year) and then two letters (not sure what those are).
