I have an Elmo 16-A.
I have trawled the whole Internet and Chat Rooms for ages to try to obtain an instruction book, to no avail.
However, I did purchase a Service Manual from Craig Camera.
Does your AA have a refillable oilbath with an internal light to show the oil level?
What does A or AA stand for. Does anybody know? After all, the AL was "Auto Load", and the CL was "Channel Load."
PS. I also have an Elmo 16-F. "F" for what?

The 16 AA does`nt have an oil bath, and the twin prong claw is a little narrower than the one in the A. They are very similar apart from the opening flap that covers over the film path at the bottom. In the AA its black plastic and pops down all the way along the bottom of the machine.
The AA is basically the next step on from the A.
The problem with the AA`s is the still mechanism`s get loose and noisey during usual playing very easily as a bit of a poor design.
A nice machine with the same kind film path as the A but why they reduced the claw size so is a mystery.
From here on next model claw wise it was back up to a better usual size for 16mm.
They are nice to use but if you get one you will probably need to remove the still mechanism parts and set in the plastic center drive part ( the part that would dissengage the drive) in to the middle of the main belt pully with loctite/ araldite etc so just a running and no still machine. Quieten`s them down no end and actually will steady the pic a little too.
Best Mark.
