Thanks to all the feedback from members, I have just solved the problem, I never had the lead with this machine and I noticed that my AEI 700 machine had the same cable, Jones 4pin, I have just received the original cable from where I got the machine and everything is working OK!!! I never knew that these plugs were wired differently, I learn something every day. Thanks again chaps.

Treasure that original Bell & Howell lead. They are worth quite a lot of money. They also fit the standard 8 model 606.
If you can find the correct B & H transformer you can enjoy cheap 115volt lamps. That's the reason for the two wires operating at live. With the transformer in use 240v goes to the mech and 115v goes to the lamp.
