I had the same problem many 16-CL owners have had with the rubber wheels turning to goo; just like the belts in the ST-1200s

Is there a good workable method or cleaner that can remove the mess from film? I really hate the idea of throwing away an other wise good LPP feature.

I would try Isopropyl Alcohol. It wont attack the film and should hopefully remove the sticky deposits.

I have used Film Renew to remove gooey rubber belt residue from the mechanical workings in ST-1200s, so I would use it to remove the goo from film. [Smile]
