Any idea where I get these from - preferably in the UK? I'm talking about the shaped rubbery piece that presses the tape down on the 'fat' CIR splicers!

Why not try Jack Roe http://www.cinemasupplies.co.uk, Philip Rigby http://www.philiprigby.co.uk/, or PEC http://www.pec.co.uk?
I deal with the people at Jack Roe every now and then, they've always been very helpful/polite/friendly etc., so they would be my first port of call - 01989 567474

David, I got mine from Wittner in Germany together with other replaments parts... now the splicer is really like new!

I just went to an auto supply store and bought a variety package of gasket material and cut the suitable material from the lot and glued it in place. Mine was a sort of cork material not rubber so there is a wide range of suitable replacements.

When I take the car for a bath on Sat a.m I'll go next door to the auto bits place and look for some gasket stuff and also some windscreen washer tubing (see 'Elf not holding focus') as I noticed some slippage last night!
Cheers, and thanks to you all, David E
