The starting bid of £1250.00 might require a second mortgage.

Some of these sellers are a scream I agree Maurice, especially
when you look at the foot of the page is a B&H 2592, a far
superior machine for next to nothing.Which just reinforces my
view that the inflated prices are from an uneducated public that
have no interest or idea of what they are selling.

Oh man, I have only just stopped laughing. That seller will wonder why at the end of the auction no one bought it.
Its probably worth just 10% of the asking price and thats subject to the worm drive not being cracked.
Guffaw!!!

Price now reduced to £150 - which is still too much.

The photo seems to show an additional lens, either a long focus, or perhaps a zoom. This could add some value to the purchase.
But the Bell & Howell 1695 was introduced in the UK in 1976, and therefore could be 36 years old, so the worm may need replacing fairly soon even if it works at the moment.

What is the worm by the way :/? I just got a B&H Autoload Filmosound Specialist (556) but it tends to make this awful cracking sound when I watch a movie on it after a few minutes of playing ... HELP!!!
Posted by Barry Fritz (Member # 1865) on March 03, 2013, 02:35 PM:
It is a worm gear that cracks on certain model Bell Howell projectors. Hard to replace, must be done by a pro. Expensive fix.
Posted by Elyas Tesfaye (Member # 3356) on March 03, 2013, 08:01 PM:
Thanks Barry,
happy I got the projector for free but that cracking noise is just too much. I used to think my Pageant was loud but now, OMG, I was so happy to hear it purr like a little kitten lol... Relativity is a hell of a thing. Do you happen to have one of these projectors by any chance as I have a few questions ... Thanks again!!!

Here is a short video of the worm gear. As you can see in it, that the gear is cracked, and needs replacing.

Well spotted Jeff, and that is from "DR FANTOM", who hasn't a ghost of a chance, it's all done for a non profit org. that gives
hope to unfortunates, I think when they see his asking price, all
hope will have gone through the window.

Good one, Hugh!.....and it doesn't even work! Well, it does "torn on" - then shuts down!
Posted by Maurice Leakey (Member # 916) on March 06, 2013, 09:26 AM:
Proving that 220 does not go into 110.
Not likely to be a fuse, more likely burnt out the motor and the amp.
And no speaker included!

I couldn't resist. I went for it because i was able to knock him down to 8,000 dollars. shipping couldn't be too much from Israel to the states, right? When this guy said- "We've attached to electricity and it torn on but immediately shuts down."- I knew I had a bargain, this is a simple fix.
I can't wait to tweek this baby up and show my extensive library of driver ed films.

OK, but don't forget, the speaker is missing too...
