It looks like it maybe some kind of pedestal change over unit to run 2 projectors together just a wild guess really.

Possibly, but it seems to be more than that. The actual projector itself only appears to have one switch - forward/reverse. I'm thinking perhaps its a Xenon or HT conversion of some sort.
Looking again, it doesn't even appear to have any volume or tone control.

Not much good to the average collector, unless sells cheap, and could be used for spares.
There are controls for motor and lamp at the back of the pedestal, and also a 1/4" jack socket for what appears to be marked as phono or perhaps phone. The large plugs and sockets seem to have many pins for connection to other equipment.
The film is from British Aerospace and is called "Rapier Tracker Training Film".
The Rapier is a British surface-to-air missile.
