Anyone know if it's possible to get parts for this?

Particularly the belts, they're from the 60's I think ... Very bad condition :-)

Thanks

Which belt(s) do you need? The most common one to go bad on these is the motor-to-shutter belt which drives the mechanism. It is a large O-ring type rubber belt which can probably be bought from a supplier, but I don't know where anymore. Perhaps if you were to contact one or more vintage electronics parts suppliers on the web, they could help you. The rewind/reverse belt is a common spring-type belt which can be spliced multiple times if necessary. The takeup belt is a round cord which will usually work until it breaks. Note: drive belt replacement requires serious disassembly of the projector and should be done by an experienced technician.
As far as other parts, most of the internal parts for this are the same as those used on the later AV-126 TR and associated models. The main difference is that the motor and idler pulley are not interchangeable.
I spent my career as an AV equipment tech. and have overhauled hundreds of 16mms. The AV-255-S is one of the best ever made.It was built from 1958 to 1962. The Kodak film transport is extremely easy on film and the big tube amp gives excellent sound. I prefer that machine to just about anything available. Good luck with yours.

Jim
