I notice there are now a great many anamorphic lenses available on ebay, mainly from the USA.

As these all mainly appear to be ex-35mm cinemas, they may not focus down sufficiently for use with a 16mm (or Super 8) projector in the home as the throws in cinemas could vary from about 30 feet to 200 feet.

My Elmo anamorphic for my 16CL focuses down to 2 metres (6.5 feet).

I suggest that anybody contemplating a purchase should first ask the seller about the focus settings.

Recent Schneider anamorphic lenses from the 35mm world focus down to 3 meters (10ft).

Hi,

the problem is the "recent": The older an attachment, the higher the chance that it gets sold.
BTW: Even some of the newer attachments only start a 5m / 17ft:
