Recently got this machine for free and everything works fine except an awful grinding noise coming from the rear sprocket hinge. I opened the baby up and it ran smooth but noted that the spring that tensions the take up reel tended to give in and take the fly wheel the reel is attached to all the way up that it came into contact with the gear and that was what made the sound [Frown] ... I fix that and screw it back up and the same thing happened... ARGH!!! Please help anyone that's familiar with this projector as it is lighter than my Kodak Pageant, and also brighter (1000 watt lamp vs. 750) but at this point, not better by far [Frown] ... I would also like to ask if anyone has a lamp mechanism cover liying around somewhere [Smile] ? Thanks again and hope you all had a great weekend [Smile] !!!

I'm going back 30yrs here, but from memory, inside the back of the projector there is a long toothed belt that drives a bearing that mounts on the drive shaft. it locks in one direction and not the other. That drives the mechanism in the arm assy and the arm assy is designed to create some slippage in the drive to the takeup spool.If you have the manual or the relevant page, I might be able to help further. I'll check online to see what i can find.

thanks for the tips and welcome to the forum [Smile] !!! I have gotten rid of this projector and am more than happy with my Kodak Pageant which is belt driven and an added bonus, way gentler on film than the B&H [Big Grin] ... Thanks again and cheerio, mate [Big Grin] !!!
