Just out of interest I was watching the outcome of this listing on Ebay. I was surprised that the listing ended with no bids, considering all that was included, and the condition of the item. It seems to me that if you take a gamble and commence with a very low price, then you might realise the figure asked, but begin with £150 and interest seems to be lost.

It may be because it's "collection only", also. That may limit interest.

I think you've hit it on the head there Jonathan, I can't understand
the thinking behind it.Probably terrified it gets damaged in transit,
but if packed correctly, as in double boxed, they arrive quite safely.
It certainly limits the sale if someone has to pick it up.

The same thing happens if you list an item that can be posted; if you start at 99p you might get a lot of interest, but start at £4.99 and it seems to put people off.

That's also true Robert, I think some folks expect too much of
the sellers at times. If it's an item I'm after, I am not influenced
by starting bids if it's something I want.Just recently on German
ebay, there was a beautiful colour 16mm print of "The Blood Demon" for 329,00 Euros, starting bid. Needless to say,I got it.

I hope this is on low fade stock. Years ago a friend sent me a digest of Lawrence of Arabia, I got it out a couple of weeks ago, and it had turned to cranberry.

Hi Robert, luckily it's on Agfa, so I hope it keeps for a while yet.
Was your print the German version of "Lawrence"?
I regularly scan the German market, and if I find one,I'll certainly
let you know (with good colour).
Have you tried Mediavana?

I bought an EIKI SL-1 recently on eBay for $123.50 and it works well. Maybe 150 pounds is too high.

Hi Hugh, it was a Columbia 400ft digest sent to me from a friend in Philadelphia. Not interested in adding anything to my Super 8 collection; its quite big even though I only collected for 9 years. All my spare cash went on either making or buying films, now I'm just interested in the odd purchase of a 16mm print.
