I know that at least some of the original release British 16mm IB Tech prints of FRWL show the atomic bomb countdown stopping at 003 instead of 007 like the American prints.

I was wondering if all British prints (videos) are this way, or if it was changed for later prints. I am also curious the countdown stops on the original release British 35mm prints.

Perhaps someone from the UK could answer this.

I dont know the answer but when I saw your topic title "Goldfinger Question" my first instinct was to post "No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!"

Good movie!

I was a provincial projectionist when 'Goldfinger' was released. I also saw it projected at a central London theatre. Both prints I saw in the UK (35mm), and all subsequent UK TV transmissions, VHS, DVD and Blu-ray that I have seen have the countdown ending at '007'. I am surprised to learn that this gag was spoilt for US viewers.
